We’re almost done finalizing all the bands and workshops for Positive Youth Fest. There will be another meeting on Saturday, December 1st to hand out the flyers and to discuss what loose ends need to be tied up. This meeting will be at 1:00 PM at…

Right near the Cinatown (red line) Convention Center (green line) metros. Bring your friends!
A lot of people have been expressing excitement about PYF and asking how they can help out. Right now, the biggest thing people can do to help is volunteer at the Maryland Food Collective at the University of Maryland. They’re donating a matching amount of food credit for every hour anyone volunteers there for Positive Youth Fest. It’s easy to get to from the metro, just take the UMD shuttle to the Stamp Student Union, and it’s in the basement of the Stamp Student Union in room B0203. You can also call for directions:301.314.8089. This is really needed right now and will be totally appreciated by all the hungry mouths at PYF!

We are looking for young DIY bands in the DC area who want to play PYF this year. The fest was started as a way to showcase passionate young bands who have something to say. So when you send your demo, tell us a little about yourself(ves).
Positive Youth Fest has included workshops on direct action, deschooling, resisting military recruitment, positive sex ed, being a transgender ally, bicycle repair, other DIY skills, and more. This year we are especially looking for workshops that will result in discussion and activity months after the fest is over.
We’ve never done an art show before, but this year we’re going to have an art show! We’re not exactly sure how it will work out, but it will definitely be better with your submissions. We’ll do our best to keep it as free from hippy bullshit and hipster pretension as possible.
We’re aiming to have everything finalized by December 1st, so hurry up and send us your shit!
Welcome to our official webpage. We’re trying to get all of the information up to date as soon as possible, so please give us a few days. If you’ve noticed any mistake or have any corrections please send them our way (check the contacts page or leave a comment).
I’m pretty sure we have an accurate list of bands now. All that’s left is the workshops
